SEASONAL TOUR GUIDES

The City of Maysville is currently accepting applications for seasonal Tour Guides. Our ideal Tour Guides have great communication skills, are comfortable speaking in front of large groups (10-50 visitors), deliver scripted information in an engaging manner and are enthusiastic about local history.

Tours may range from 30-90 minutes and include Old Washington, Downtown Maysville, the Cox Building, guided trolley tours, local museums, and other miscellaneous attractions. Tour Guides will go through an on-boarding/training process where they will learn and memorize tour scripts in preparation for visitor questions.

Essential Functions:

  • Great and welcome guests
  • Reserve group tours
  • Memorize tour scripts.
  • Engage with guests and be prepared to answer questions.
  • Independent study and research
  • Lead up to 4–6 tours daily with enthusiasm, energy, and excitement.
  • Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments
  • Other duties as assigned.                

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00-$12.00 per hour

Schedule: Tours are offered between 10:00AM and 4:00PM every day. Part-time schedules are flexible—schedule is made monthly and is based on advanced bookings and daily scheduled tours. Shifts are typically six hours with weekend and weekday only availability.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of tours
